Featuring footage from a ceremony held 20 years after the genocide in the Bosnian town of Srebrenica, Disturbed Earth opens the door to a dark chapter in modern European history. A truck decorated with flags and flowers enters the city with a load of coffins. Two decades after the Bosnians were killed, their remains are to be buried in a ceremony in the presence of those left behind. Then the focus shifts to three people who survived the massacre: Srećko, Mirza and Mejra. Through their routines, poetic texts and archive material from the war, their fates are unravelled.
